Model Answer :
I remember my first international trip like it was yesterday. It was back in the summer of 2017 when I had just turned 20 years old. I travelled to the vibrant and diverse country of Thailand, and I feel really excited to be able to talk about this experience here.

The reason for my journey was both an educational opportunity and a chance to explore a different culture. I was selected to participate in a university-sponsored exchange programme, which allowed me to spend a semester studying at a university in Thailand. This was a fantastic chance to immerse myself in a new environment, gain academic exposure, and understand a culture entirely different from my own.

As I embarked on this journey, I felt a mix of emotions - excitement, anticipation, and a bit of anxiety. It was my first time leaving my home country, and I was going to be far away from my family and friends for an extended period. The idea of living in a foreign land, adapting to a new culture, and studying in a language I wasn't entirely fluent in was both exhilarating and intimidating.

However, the moment I landed in Thailand, my apprehensions started to fade away. The people I met were incredibly welcoming, and I quickly realized that I had made the right decision. The sights, sounds, and smells of a new country overwhelmed my senses. I found the Thai culture, with its rich history and delicious cuisine, absolutely fascinating.

Over time, my fears transformed into curiosity and a sense of adventure. I began to explore the city, make new friends from various parts of the world, and engage in experiences I never thought I'd have. Travelling throughout Thailand, I saw stunning landscapes, ancient temples, and bustling markets.

As I understand now, my first international trip was an unforgettable experience. It allowed me to broaden my horizons, meet incredible people, and develop a deep appreciation for diversity. It instilled in me a love for travel and a curiosity about the world that still drives me to explore new places.
