Model Answer 1:
It is not really any fun to fall sick. Even more frustrating can be the fact that you actually have to wait to get an appointment with a doctor who you can trust with your health. But, this is life, and we have to run to a doctor, whether we like it or not, just like I also had to see a doctor for my cough problem about a few years ago during the wintertime.

It’s not like I had fallen sick and had to visit a doctor for the first time that winter. In fact, I have had a cough problem a number of times before, but it just went away either by itself or after trying some home remedies for a few days. But, in that winter, I was coughing continuously for more than a week with no sign of relenting. I was also getting weak as I was not having enough sleep. The situation got even worse when a high fever also started to torture my already-frail health. No home remedies or any “over the counter medicines” were working to subdue my cough, so I was feeling really terrible.

Finally, I decided to visit a good doctor in his chamber. The doctor checked my blood pressure, pulse and breathing. He didn’t seem to find any issue with them initially, so he ordered me to do a chest x-ray and blood testing. When the test reports were available, I took them to the doctor in the same evening. After checking all the reports, the doctor told me that I have a minor lung infection. He also told me that I had nothing to worry about.

It really felt great to hear the kind words from the doctor. However, he also prescribed me some medicines for about two weeks, in order to relieve my pains and fever. He also told me to take some kinds of “decongestants” to help loosen mucus. Finally, he also advised me to take a lot of rest and drink plenty of fluids if I really wanted to feel better quick.

Sample Answer 2:
I would like to thank you first to let me talk about this topic. Well, I personally hate seeing doctors and wish to remain healthy so that I can avoid going through diagnosis and treatment. Visiting someone at a hospital is entirely different from getting admitted there for treatment.

Regrettably, I had to see a doctor recently, around a month ago. Due to the changes of season and my exposure to public places at that time, I got a severe cold and viral infection. It was accompanied by continuous sneezing, occasional fever, heavy head and a running nose which left me in great discomfort. I was sick and had suffered great pain for two days. I could barely keep my eyes open due to the developing stress. After no more resistance, I decided to see Mr Alfred, a doctor in our locality.

I had to wait around 45 minutes outside his chamber and when I finally met him, he asked me how I was feeling. He then checked my pulse, body temperature and possible infections in my throat. He then asked me how long I had this condition and whether I had taken any medicine or not. After some time, he concluded that I have developed a flue, probably due to the temperature changes, dust and my exposure to different places.

He finally took his prescription pad and prescribed me a few medicines and recommended me a test. He advised me to avoid cold water and beverages. On top of that, he asked me to avoid going out in the dirt. I asked how long I might take to heal completely, and he beamed at that. He then said that it will take another three to four days.

I visited him again sometime later. He told me that nothing was serious and I should take some bed rest and hopefully get well soon. Fortunately, I recovered within two days and could concentrate on my daily work without any running nose or a headache.
