Model Answer 1:
Thank you very much for this great topic, and I would be elated to share my favourite pastime activity with you.

I love to collect stamps- various kinds of postal stamps that are. Some people find it very difficult to believe that I have this hobby as an adult as they consider it a childhood hobby. In fact, I started collecting stamps when I was only 8 or 9 years old, and the memory is still very lucid to me, and I still enjoy this hobby of mine.

Around that time, my grandfather went to the UK and brought gifts for all of us. My share of this gift was a very attractive looking stamp album that contains around ten brand new stamps from the UK. This was an inspiring event for me to become a philatelist in my life.

This hobby entertains me, excites me and gives me a great opportunity to learn about different countries and their prominent historical events and cultural aspects. This is a fabulous pastime activity mainly because I consider it a perfect hobby as there is a never-ending stream of new stamps all around the world and a collector feels a zeal to have as many of them as possible. I have made two friends from the USA only because they collect stamps and we believe this is a very positive hobby to have. A country represents its history and distinctive feature through the stamps it publishes and with the steady popularity of postal service in the nineteenth century onward, this has become a hobby of sheer excitement for many across the globe.

I am 26 years old now and have been engaged in this pastime activity since I was 9. I would say I have been collecting stamps and researching them, mostly online research to fulfil my thirst for knowledge about a new stamp, for more than 15 years.

I do not have many hobbies, and I enjoy what I have been doing for more than a decade- stamp collecting. I have several interesting and loving memories regarding my experience of collecting and researching postage stamps. This activity gives me opportunities to learn about different countries, their significant historical events, unique culture and way of life. Besides, I feel a kind of excitement whenever I get a new stamp. This is incomparable to anything else. I also collect stamps and enjoy this hobby due to the learning opportunities it offers.

Model Answer 2:
Many people in the world love to read books and reading is their favourite hobby. In fact, I also love to read books a lot in my free time. It is my favourite pastime activity and here I will talk about it.

Many different types of pastime activities are available among people around us. But not all of them are suitable for each of us, and sometimes people are reluctant to participate in them for various reasons. But reading books is a simple yet useful pastime activity that I enjoy to a great extent.

I enjoy this activity for various reasons, and the most important aspect of it is that it helps enhance my knowledge. It also helps me understand the world, our life, culture, history and emotions, in general. Besides, it widens our outlook and enhances our tolerance towards differences. I believe that reading books assists in constructing our mental faculty and gives us meaningful insights into the history of the world. Fictions enable us to travel in an imaginary world to ignite our imagination which helps us become more creative.

I have been reading books as a pastime activity since my childhood - perhaps since when I was in grade three. In fact, many of my friends, classmates and relatives had termed me as a bookworm for my extensive reading habit. I still read books whenever I get some free time. Reading books gives me immense pleasure as they take me to a world where everything is possible!

I prefer reading as my favourite pastime for so many reasons. First of all, books are the best friend of people. They will remain your constant companion for as long as you want. They also make you a bit wiser and mature than you are now. The feeling of reading a good book in my free time is just incredible, and it can not be expressed in words.
