Model Answer 1:
Thank you very much for this great cue card topic and I would be very happy to share my favourite pastime activity with you.

I love to collect stamps. Some people find it very difficult to believe that I have this hobby as an adult as they consider it a childhood hobby. In fact, I started collecting stamps when I was only 9 years old and the memory is still very lucid to me. My grandfather went to the UK and brought gifts for all of us. My share of this gift was a very attractive looking stamp album. This was an inspiring event for me to become a philatelist in my life.

This hobby entertains me, excites me and gives a great opportunity to learn about different countries and their prominent historical events. This is a fabulous pastime activity mainly because I consider it a perfect hobby as there is a never-ending stream of new stamps all around the world and a collector feels a zeal to have as many as possible. I have made two friends from the USA only because they collect stamps and we believe this is a very positive hobby to have. A country represents its history and distinctive feature through the stamps it publishes and with the steady popularity of postal service in the nineteenth century onward, this has become a hobby of sheer excitement for many across the globe, including.

As I am 26 years old now and have always been engaged in this pastime activity since I was 9. I would say I have been collecting stamps and researching them, mostly online research to fulfil my thirst for the knowledge about a new stamp, for more than 15 years.

I do not have many hobbies and I enjoy what I have been doing for more than a decade- stamp collecting. I have several interesting and sweet memories regarding my experience of collecting and researching postage stamps. This activity gives me a great opportunity to learn about different countries, their significant historical events, unique culture and way of life. Besides, I feel a kind of excitement whenever I get a new stamp and this is incomparable to anything else. I also collect stamps and enjoy this hobby due to the learning opportunities it offers.

Model Answer 2:
I am sure that majority of the population of the world love reading books. In fact, I also love to read books and there are no specific genres are available. Book reading is a favourite pastime for me. And I have a large collection of various types of books. Thank you for the smart question.

There are a wide number of pastime activities are available around us. But not all of them are suitable for each of us and sometimes people are reluctant to participate in them for various reasons. Investing physical labour or efforts is one of the prime cause for reluctance. But reading books is a simple pastime and is loved by all for nature. To read books you will not need to invest a huge amount of money or labour. Just take a book and start reading it. So simple! I also have the reluctance to participate in pastime activities that require physical movement. Book reading helps me in this case and has saved my time.

I enjoy book reading for various reasons. The most important thing is that it helps to know the world. A book is filled with knowledge. The knowledge will help you to know the things and happenings around you. Besides, it also widens outlook. The more you will read, the more you will be wiser. Further, reading books has numerous benefits. It helps to construct your mental faculty stronger than before. The knowledge you will get from a book is precious. Some of the books provide pleasure while some other will make you cry. You will start thinking yourself as one the characters of the books. Moreover, reading books help to remain calm and quiet. The benefits of book reading are undoubtedly helpful for humans. It is a kind of therapy to mind. When the mind is restless, reading books help to concentrate the mind on specific issues and matters. Based on the beneficial grounds, I love reading books and enjoy it greatly.

I have been reading the book since an early age. In fact, many of my friends, classmates and relatives had termed me as a bookworm for my extensive book reading. I am introvert since my childhood. It becomes difficult for me to socialise with people who are not of my league. And this is really tough to get people with similar mentality and nature. The number of such people is limited. So, I have made book reading as my hobby and pastime activity. As a result, I have read so many books until today. With the comparison of my age, I am too much matured and it happened only after reading the books. When the kids of my age used to play in the playground, I used to read comic books. Consequently, I got familiar with a notable number of comic characters which are now found in cinemas.

I prefer book reading as my favourite pastime for so many reasons. First of all, books are the best friend of people. You might have a quarrel or suffer mental complexities with your near and dear ones or friends. But there would be no such issues with a book. The book will remain your constant companion as long as you want. On the other sides, the books are enriched with information and knowledge that may help you lead a happy and peaceful life. Besides, I love to read books as they entertain me. I visualise the events I find on book pages. The writing styles help me imagine the events happening before my eyes. Sometimes, I start thinking myself as a character of the story. The feelings are incredible. Therefore, book reading is my favourite pastime.
