Model Answer 1:
In mid-November last year, I experienced a rainy day, which was quite uncommon, and it rained all day long. In fact, it was an unusual experience for me. Thank you for this interesting and fun topic. I am glad to have a chance to describe my experience of this rainy day here.

In November, the cold is acute in our country, and rain is the last thing that people have in their minds. In fact, rain during this period is unheard-of in our country. So, nobody expects a few drops of rain at this time of the year, let alone torrential rain. But nature had other plans for us and decided to pour rainwater on us the whole day!

I am an undergraduate student at a local university and my major is Social Science. On that day, I needed to remain busy with my academic events. In fact, I had to attend an important class on that day and take a class test. Due to such heavy rain, the traffic condition deteriorated, and I had to face difficulty getting a taxi or a bus to reach my university. Moreover, I was not prepared for the rain as it started when I had already left my home. Without proper dresses, I felt a chilling cold the whole time I was out of my home. After I returned, I took a hot shower and went directly inside my warm and cosy blanket. It felt so comfortable!

It rained the whole day, perhaps it started at around 8:45 in the morning and ended just after dusk. It was drizzling at first, but after a while, it was torrential rain that we witnessed. The rain did not cease, but its power and intensity changed almost every hour. I thought that it might stop in the noon, but the rain did not stop.

I had a mixed feeling about the day and the rain. At first, it seemed interesting, but when I was struggling to get any transportation, I was worried that I would be late for the class, and naturally, the rain was to be blamed! After a while, I started feeling very cold as I did not wear enough clothing for such weather. But when I returned home and got in the conform of my bed and started watching some of my favourite TV programmes, and learned that my mother was cooking some of my favourite dishes; the rainy day suddenly seemed a blessing!

Sample Answer 2:
A rainy day is dull and gloomy to many and exciting and enjoyable to others. For me, it all depends on the condition of the day! A couple of weeks ago, I experienced such a rainy day, but it was not a dull day by any means. I will describe the day and my experience of it here.

It was perhaps the second week of February. In our country, it usually does not rain at this time. But due to global warming and climate changes, the weather, nowadays, behaves so strangely. So, the rainfall was completely unexpected to everyone. But we should not have been so startled about it because the weather and nature are changing.

Personally, I enjoyed the day to a great extent. It was a kind of great relief for me to do many fun activities with my family after a long. I could not go to my office and decided to cook some of our favourite foods at home. Later, we played some indoor games and watched two movies. When the rain stopped, we went to the rooftop and enjoyed the view. We went outside in the evening to take a stroll and the nature was so beautiful all around us. We ordered some delicious food from a restaurant at night and enjoyed our family dinner together.

The rain lasted for more than 8 hours, I guess. It started early in the morning and stopped at around noon time. During these 8 hours, interestingly, the intensity of the rain did not get weak and the heavy pour of the rain brought a chilling cold all around us.

I did not feel well at first as I could not go to my office due to the rain. Then I took the day off and felt that I should make the day more enjoyable for all of us. After a while, when I finalised my plan and started materialising all of them- I felt so great and happy about the day being rainy all of a sudden.

And that’s exactly how I succeeded in achieving a goal recently, which I otherwise thought was not possible. When I was browsing the CNN.com (in fact I visit the website at least twice a day), a news story titled - ‘How to lose a job in 30 seconds’ attracted me. I thought that the news story is about offering suggestions to give up a job within half a minute. But when I entered the story, it was a different thing. CNN.com is o
