Describe an item/gift that you received and became happy with.

You should say:
  • when you received it
  • what the item/gift was
  • who gave it to you
and explain why you felt happy upon receiving it.

Model Answer 1:
I have recently turned 21, and my parents arranged a fabulous birthday party for the occasion. On this birthday, I received some great gifts. One such birthday gift that my father gave me was one of the best gifts in my life, and for this speaking topic, I'll talk about this item.

I am a big fan of Apple's electronic devices, and the latest iPhone model is something I have been dreaming to have for many days. But it was not cheap, especially, for a student like me. So, despite my desire for the latest iPhone, I had to settle for something else - a cheap old model that is. But it all changed when my father gave me exactly what I had been dreaming to own - the latest, the sleekest, the smartest iPhone!

I think my father could understand my desire and fascination for this device and decided to present me with this gift on my birthday. I was quite amazed - and not to mention exhilarated - to get the gift.

I was delighted with the item after I received it. It was a kind of unexpected gift for me, and it came from one of the people whom I like and love the most; so it had great sentimental value as well. I knew what I would be doing with this phone since I had long been planning about them. So, this increased my excitement and happiness even more.
