Model Answer 1:

Where it was:
The noisy place I would like to talk about is a crowded shopping mall that I visited a few months ago. It is located in the center of the city, and it is one of the busiest shopping destinations in the area. Before I proceed further, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to let me talk about a noisy place where I have been to.

Why you went there:
I went to this mall to buy some new clothes for an upcoming event. I had heard that it had a vast collection of clothes from different brands and designers, so I decided to check it out.

Why it was noisy:
The mall was extremely noisy, and there were several reasons for it. The first reason was a large number of people. The mall was packed with shoppers, and it seemed like everyone was trying to get somewhere urgently. Secondly, there were several loudspeakers in the mall that were playing music and advertisements at a high volume. Lastly, there were several vendors and salespeople shouting out to customers to promote their products, which added to the chaos.

How you felt about being there:
To be honest, I felt overwhelmed by the noise and the chaos of the mall. It was challenging to concentrate on shopping or even to have a conversation with my friend who was with me. The constant noise and commotion made me feel tired and frustrated. However, I was able to complete my shopping and find the clothes that I wanted, so I was happy about that.

Model Answer 2:
Markets are always noisy and if it is a street market on a busy street in the city, the noises are more severe. Usually, the noises are created for the increased crowd around the market. Last week I went to the Chinatown Street Market in Singapore.

Chinatown street market is one of the most famous street markets in Singapore and it is visited by a substantial number of people. The market remains open from morning to midnight. Usually, the market becomes more crowded and noisy during the evening hours and before its closure. The Chinatown street market is famous as almost everything is found here including items of fashion, electronics, potteries, plants, clothing, toys and souvenir. The products are sold in small stalls and almost all the stalls are well-decorated with a wide range of products and goods. Besides, the street market is also renowned for its street restaurants. Though the restaurants are set in relatively small spaces, they are also crowded with customers of different types. Delicious foods are prepared and sold here and the shoppers enjoy the foods whenever they could manage a break from their shopping.

I went there to buy a small toy for presenting my neighbour’s son on his birthday. Mr Nicholas is a European and lives just the opposite of our apartment in Singapore. He is a businessman and lives with his family here. His eldest son, Robert has turned 10 this month and to celebrate the day, he invited us all. Thereby, to join the event, I planned to buy a piece of toy for the boy. The boy was intelligent and thus I planned to get something special for him. I planned for numerous things like presenting him with a book or a watch or a mug. But finally, I came to the decision that I would buy a set of chess for him which will make him intelligent and smarter. Accordingly, I went to the Chinatown street market as this is a famous place. My dad had bought a set of chess for me which was accompanied by crystal pieces. The set looked very nice and I planned to get one like that for Robert.

Generally, people around the globe come to Singapore and this is a usual tradition to shop here. People find more interest in shopping as the products sold here at the street markets belong to top quality. Moreover, the prices of the products are flexible. The people who come to buy products have the option to haggle about the price with the sellers. The number of shoppers gets increase in the afternoon and in fact people rush here to shop as the place is excellent with plenty of options. Although the shops look ordinary in size shape and decoration, they are able to compete with any superstore or large shopping mall in Singapore. The products they sell have a great variety and some of the stalls also sell products of different brands. Since everyone gathered in the street, it appeared that life was buzzing here. The shouts of the sellers, loud haggling between the buyer and sellers, discussion of people over different issues and the surrounding environment made it noisy, I think.

It was a pleasure for me to be at the Chinatown street market as I do not actually have more chances to go shopping. I, in fact, do not need to shop as my dad does everything for me. I am not allowed to move for shopping as my parents are against the issue. But this time, my dad asked me to buy the present for the kid as he could not manage time for his several business involvements. Besides, he might be testing me if I am gaining some real-life skills to survive. Often my mom accompanies me as they believe that females should not walk alone on the streets but she also did not accompany me to buy the chess set. So, I was responsible to buy the present and I did that perfectly. It was a great pleasure for me and I have gained some confidence that I could do something alone. It is a testimony to me that I am getting mature. I felt really good about being at the Chinatown street market.

Sample Answer 3:
My recent visit to the San Diego zoo provided me with an interesting experience. It was a noisy place that I have not been to before. The surrounding places inside the zoo were filled with noise both from the animals and the people who came to visit them. Thank you for the nice cue card and hope the description will not make you feel bored as I was during my visit.

I did not have the experience to visit a zoo. So, I went to visit the San Diego zoo with some of my college friends. The experience was outstanding. But the noise around me was intolerable. I did not have the idea that the animals could make so much noise. In fact, I could not enjoy the visit there only for it being a noisy place.

I went to the zoo to see animals that I have watched only in books and movies. Actually, my parents did not allow me to move outside of the home without any important reasons. And visiting places and meeting with friends was wasting time – they believed. But when I grew up and started studying college, they became more friendly to me and allowed all the things that they did not permit before. So, my real-life knowledge for me is limited, and I started to gain some knowledge. As part of earning knowledge, I went to the San Diego Zoo and came to know about various types of animals.

The zoo was noisy for certain reasons. First of all, this is the place where wild animals live and they create noise. I think they try to communicate with each other and thus create sounds. Hence, such noises are natural the zoo animals. Besides, when visitors come to the zoo, they also create noises. They shout and talk, and laugh seeing the animals before them. In fact, this is the natural expression of wonder for the visitors. But since there are no restrictions about sound, they create noise after their sweet wills. So, all the sounds inside the zoo create a noisy environment.

Initially, it was a nice experience to me to be at the zoo. But after passing some moments inside there, I felt uncomfortable. I could not enjoy the trip to the zoo for the noise. It appeared that the visitors are making more noise than the animals inside. There should be a limit on noise which should be followed strictly. The animals will make noise which is natural but the noise from the visitors is completely undesired. Though I could not bear the knowledge, I made the trip complete inside the zoo as it was my very first visit. I think the authority should take steps to prevent such a noisy situation in this zoo.
